Handpicked by Sean “Diddy” Combs himself, singer/songwriter Miguel was recently inducted into the DeLeón 100 list. As the first artist ever to be inducted, Miguel’s trailblazing music career hasn’t gone unnoticed by his peers, Diddy, and DeLeón Tequilla. Miguel accepted the honor at The Sayers Club last Thursday night in Los Angeles. The Grammy award-winning singer performed for a packed house, but also took time to speak with Billboard about his appreciation for Diddy recognizing his talent. “Growing up, watching him be a trailblazer, being a leader and showing us that the sky is the limit has always inspired me to want to do that in my own way. He really is the blueprint for a lot of us that grew up in the ’80s. To be handpicked by him is a huge honor, and more than anything, he has shown us that if you are bold and you are courageous and you stay consistent and dedicated and diligent that you can do anything. I think that’s what this list and DeLeón is all about. I’m really honored to be here.” Miguels most recent album Wildheart was released in June 2015. Besides touring, Miguel will show his acting chops in Ben Affleck’s ‘Live by Night’ which is set to hit theaters on Christmas Day 2016.
