As we all know, it is easy to recreate a designer bag and/or attach a popular brand logo to a shirt and sell it. The problem is that knockoff goods are no longer just being sold in flea markets or on Canal Street. Knockoffs are now being sold at major retail stores like Walmart and Amazon. The logo of legendary hip-hop group Run-D.M.C. is being reused on all kinds of merchandise. TMZ is reporting that the group is suing for $50 million for the unlicensed use of their iconic logo. The group says that Walmart and Amazon are selling glasses, t-shirts, wallets, glasses, and other items with their logo on it. Run-D.M.C.’s suit claims that Walmart and Amazon are working with manufacturers to make big dollars off the knockoff merchandise. Manufacturers are also being named in the suit.
