Wu-Tang Clan member U-God has filed a $2.5 million lawsuit against the other members of the legendary hip-hop group. For six years, U-God claims that he hasn’t been paid his share of the profits from Wu-Tang merchandise and albums. According to TMZ, the emcee claims that he hasn’t received his cut from the the most recent $2 million Once Upon a Time in Shaolin album. Of 170 Wu-Tang songs he spit verses on, U-God hasn’t received payment on, as well as, two annual payouts from merchandise sales. U-God blames RZA and his brother Mitchell “Divine” Diggs for the setback. Group member Raekwon also has his issues with RZA when it comes to money. In U-God’s court documents, he is requesting a detail accounting of Wu-Tang’s revenue streams. Hopefully, they all can sort this out soon for the sake of the brand.
