For the first time since 1998, the Atlanta Falcons will make an appearance at Super Bowl LI.  But, their opponent the New England Patriots is familiar with the occasion. This will be their 10th time playing in America’s grandest sport showdown.

Falcon’s QB Matt Ryan led the win with four touchdown passes. The Green Bay Packers gave Falcons the NFC Championship with the final score of 44-21, which was the Dirty Birds biggest home win in franchise history.

“For the fans, for this city and for the teams that rocked this place for 25 years, we felt your energy from the very beginning,” Falcons head coach Dan Quinn said. “So it’s only fitting, at the NFC Championship Game, the last game played here, we felt that too.”

The game also marked the Falcons last time playing at the Georgia Dome. The team has spent the last 25 years playing their, but will be moving to the new Mercedes-Benz state-of-the-art stadium that’s currently in construction in downtown Atlanta.

The New England Patriots return to the Super Bowl stage after defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 36-17 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Patriots’ QB Tom Brady made a postseason game record with a throw of 384 yards. He also made three touchdowns. Chris Hogan captured a franchise playoff record with 180 receiving yards.

“There are only two teams left standing, and I’m happy we’re one of them,” Brady said.

 
Super Bowl LI will go down on February 5 at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
