On Tuesday, January 10, Obama will make his final statement as President of the United States. At the same venue he gave his victory speech in 2012, Obama will return to McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois to bid farewell. In an announcement tweeted by the White House, more information about Obama’s speech was provided on a link to the their official website. According to the site, Americans can expect Obama spill words of thanks for his tenure as President. He will also “celebrate the ways you’ve changed this country for better these past eight years, and to offer some thoughts on where we all go from here.” With the outgoing and incoming administrations being drastically different, Obama’s camp is working overtime to make sure that his legacy isn’t tarnished. As Trump is already preparing to get rid of many of the executive orders implemented by Obama, these last few days will be used to salvage as many policies as he is able to help the Democrats hold some type of control for the next four years.
