Teyana Taylor is the latest celebrity signed on as a brand ambassador for Reebok. She joins an elite class of ambassadors like Kendrick Lamar, Gigi Hadid and Future. The mother of one is now the face of the re-released Reebok Classic Freestyle Hi aka 54-11s. The sneaker was originally created specifically for women and their fitness regime. The sneaker price points range from $64.99 to $89.99 and comes in black, white, and red. Recently, Teyana Taylor spoke with Elle Magazine to dish on her new gig and reminisce about how the 54-11s were a big deal for her growing up in Harlem, NY. The “Fade” artist spoke on the outrageous colored sneakers she’d wear as a kid and why this brand is so legendary. I did. I had every color. I had the lime green ones. When I got my first silver bubble coat I wore it with my white 54-11s. My mom kept me laced in every single color. Even when I first got signed, Reebok was sending me sneakers, I had the metallic ones, I had every single flavor. I still do. It’s one thing for people to send you stuff, but to actually be a part of a brand that you look up to, and a legendary one at that, is super dope. Especially with what I represent. Everybody knows that I’m in love with the ’80s and ’90s—even as far back as when I did My Super Sweet 16! To read more of Teyana Taylor’s interview, click here.
