All of this over a Tumblr post…*sigh* Frank Ocean’s father is suing him for $14.5 million for defamation, according to TMZ. The father, Calvin Cooksey, claims that Frank’s statement about him in a Tumblr post has caused him to miss out on financial opportunities in the film and music industry. After the tragic Orlando nightclub shooting occurred, Frank Ocean took to Tumblr to reminisce about a time when his father used a homophobic slur. “I was six years old when I heard my dad call our transgender waitress a faggot as he dragged me out a neighborhood diner saying we wouldn’t be served because she was dirty,” he wrote. “That was the last afternoon I saw my father and the first time I heard that word, I think, although it wouldn’t shock me if it wasn’t.” Cooksey isn’t new to filing lawsuits apparently. Two years ago, he filed a lawsuit against Russell Simmons and his Global Grind website for portraying him as a deadbeat dad in a published article.
