Husband and wife duo, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz, were recently honored at the 7th Annual Brooklyn Artists Ball. The event, which was held at the Brooklyn Museum, included an all blue-inspired dinner reception and after-party in celebration of the pair’s continued work in the community. Leon Levy Foundation trustee Shelby White and Leon Levy Museum director Anne Pasternak kicked off the reception by rapping the names of all the artists in attendance. The duo shared that they were honoring Swizz Beatz’s visionary scope of music and his dedication to supporting artists through the Dean Collection. Alicia Keys — who was honored for her drive of nurturing communities and providing creative mentorships — accepted the award, mentioning, “At this time in the world, art is the most important thing we can do.” Other attendees included Lenny Kravitz and Fab 5 Freddy. The event hosted a cocktail party with arts and crafts and body painting inside of the Great Hall, where a “blue” art exhibition was the focus. Source: Billboard
