Sources say Kanye West has scrapped his exclusivity rights with Tidal because of their inability to pay him what he’s owed. As Jay-Z celebrated the release of this thirteenth album 4:44, a discord between Hov and his longtime pal Kanye West became prevalent. Whether the jabs at Kanye on 4:44 sparked the flame or not, news started to surface that he was ending his tenure as one of the streaming service’s artist owners. Kanye claims that Tidal owes him an estimated $3 million. His Life of Pablo album release supposedly brought in 1.5 million new subscribers to Tidal. For this, Kanye was to be paid a bonus of some sorts and payment for music videos created for Life of Pablo. According to Tiday, Kanye was insubordinate with the music videos he was contractually obligated to provide. Although a formal lawsuit has yet been filed, Billboard states that Ye’s and Tidal lawyers are gearing up for a legal battle. Photo credit: Getty Images
