Really Madonna?! How could Whitney Houston be subpar when she’s one of the greatest vocalists of all time? A old letter have surfaced that was written by Madonna and now is being auctioned off. The letter, which was in the possession of Madonna’s former friend and art consultant, Darlene Lutz, reveals some disparaging words towards two hugely popular entertainers. It seems as though Madonna felt some kind of way about the success of Whitney Houston and actress Sharon Stone. “It’s so unequivocally frustrating to read that Whitney Houston has the music career I wish I had and Sharon Stone has the film career I’ll never have.” “Not because I want to be these women – because I’d rather die, but they’re so horribly mediocre and they’re always being held up as paragons of virtue [or] some sort of measuring stick to humiliate me. Everything I do is so original and unique and I put so much of myself into it, like my book and record and it’s only brought me heartache and pain and I don’t think I can play the game to be accepted.” She also compares her career frustrations to feeling like “what black people felt like when Elvis Presley got huge.” The letter was written around the early ’90s and addressed to an unknown person by the name of “J.” Some believe the initial stood for actor John Enos, whom she was secretly dating at the time. Madonna’s letter is being auctioned off by GottaHaveRockAndRoll.com and is expected to bring in $3,000 to $5,000.
