Starting today (Aug. 18), MTV will allow fans to vote for the Best New Artist category through Twitter’s platform. Fans can send a direct message to @MTV and placed their votes via a Twitter bot. Music lovers will also be able to share their vote to their followers. Voting is open up until August 27, the day of the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards. The top two nominees will be announced live during the pre-show. From that point, fans will have to hashtag their votes profusely until the winner is selected and presented their award. This year, nominees for the Best New Artist category includes Young M.A., Kodak Black, SZA, Khalid, Julia Michaels, and Noah Cyrus.
