Kendrick Lamar entered to sneaker world with several custom designs courtesy of Reebok. Their business relationship was sealed tight, so us Classic lovers thought. Surprisingly, last week, the Compton rapper hinted that Reebok is no more and that he’s down with the Nike team now. In a tweet, Kendrick announced that a Nike Cortez sneaker collaboration is in the works. Kendrick Lamar understands the influence of the Nike Cortez and the sneaker’s staple in L.A.’s fashion and hip-hop culture. The rapper has been spotted wearing a pair of Cortez, most recently in his “Element” music video. No word yet on the details of the Kendrick Lamar x Nike partnership.
