Remember back in July 2016 when we told you all that MTV’s new “Classic” network was going to be airing old episodes of “Total Request Live?” Well, it seems that MTV is bringing the popular music show back…bigger and better! On Monday, MTV announced that “Total Request Live” aka TRL will be returning on Monday, October 2. The daily live show will reside in its old headquarters in Times Square studio. The set is said to be slightly revamped and will welcome millennials from all over who thrives off of music and pop culture. TRL will feature five hosts: Amy Pham, D.C. Young Fly, Erik Zachary, Lawrence Jackson and Tamara Dhia. The hosts will work in rotations throughout the week. Using their social media and radio star power as a catalyst, TRL will utilize all digital platforms (i.e. Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube, Instagram, etc). To find out more about the hosts and what experience they bring to the table, check out some highlights below: Amy Pham: A DJ. actress and television host; over 500,000 Instagram followers; has worked with Ciara, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, and Adam Sandler. Lawrence Jackson: A journalist featured in ESPN, ABC and Essence Magazine,; past interviews included Oprah Winfrey, Kevin Hart and Usher; actor, producer and TV/radio personality. D.C. Young Fly: A rapper, actor and comedian; real name John Whitfield; cast member on MTV’s “Nick Cannon Presents: Wild ‘N Out”; actor in BET’s New Edition biopic; 5 million Instagram followers. Erik Zachary: An on-air host for iHeartMedia’s 103.5 KISS FM in Chicago.
