The Cardi B takeover is real. The former “Love & Hip Hop New York” star is making waves throughout the music industry, and entertainment in general, with her humble-yet-ratchet personality. It’s hard to overlook Cardi B. And, her chart-topping hit “Bodak Yellow” is so etched in your brain at this point, that some are wondering if she can recreate the same type of success with her next tune. The Associated Press recently interviewed Cardi and asked if she’s feeling pressure to top “Bodak Yellow” and what fans can expect on her debut album. “I’m a little nervous to put the project out, but it’s like I think it’s going to do pretty good. It’s a lot of pressure on me. Everybody’s waiting to see what I’m going to have next and it’s like…I hope people love it. But, I have confidence. I really do.” With a song that’s #2 on the Hot 100 chart, it feels amazing to Cardi to finally be able to live out her dreams. “It feels amazing and it’s overwhelming. It’s like, it fills me up with lot of happiness and a lot of joy. It’s just like unbelievable. I’ve been through so many things and I worked so hard for me to be here, and it’s like I’m finally here getting what I wanted, [and getting] the respect from other artists and from everybody.” Cardi B’s debut album is scheduled for release in October 2017.
