“Scandal” star Kerry Washington is executive producing a new series for Facebook. The 10-episode series “Five Points,” which will air on Facebook’s new platform WATCH, involves the lives of five high school students from the South Side of Chicago. According to Variety, the series will take a look at each students’ perspective as they deal with several life changing events. Cast for the series so far are Hayley Kiyoko (“CSI: Cyber”) and actress and model Madison Pettis. “We are excited to have the opportunity to partner with Indigenous and Facebook in order to tell this important, thought provoking and compelling story,” Washington said. “We are thrilled to have the incredibly talented Kerry Washington join our producing team,” said Jon Avnet, co-founder of Indigenous Media. “Her strong perspective coupled with Thomas Carter’s gifted direction will take ‘Five Points’ to the next level.” Five Points was created by Adam Giaudrone, who will serve as writer and executive producer. Jon Avnet and Jake Avnet of Indigenous Media will also executive produce along with Sage Scroope and Ben Fast as producers. Also executive producing is Pilar Savone, EVP of development and production for Washington’s Simpson Street Productions.
