Angela Simmons, Bobby V, & Brandy — 2013 BET Awards Pre-Show
Last night, the Nokia Theatre was on fire for the 2013 BET Awards. Praised as being one of the best award shows BET has televised in a long time, the network clearly has stepped it up with the production. The host Chris Tucker made a major comeback and the performances were pretty good. Some of the newer faces won awards (which was great to see instead of having the same people win awards each year). Charlie Wilson and Dwyane Wade received special awards for their contributions to entertainment and philanthropy. Gabrielle Douglas received two awards (Subway Sportswoman & Young Stars) for her sportsmanship as a gold-medal winning Olympic gymnast. Other winners of the evening included:

Director of the Year – BENNY BOOM
Best Actress – KERRY WASHINGTON
Best Gospel Artist – MARY MARY
Best Movie – THINK LIKE A MAN
Best Actor – JAMIE FOXX
Subway Sportsman – LEBRON JAMES
Coca-Cola Viewers Choice Award – DRAKE “STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM”
Centric Award – TAMAR BRAXTON “LOVE & WAR”
