56-38 vote to block student loan bill
Senate Republicans stall student loan refinance bill….
And the fight continues between the red-republicans and blue-democrats. They say education is the key to opening doors, however, it’s costing college graduates a lot of money with no real Return-on-Investment (ROI). Many post graduate students are up to their neck in student loan debt with high interest rates and no bailout. Senate republicans recently blocked a bill 56-38 that would allow people to refinance their student loans at lower interest rates. The vote fell short 60 that was needed to advance the debate in the house by Sen. Elizabeth Warren of, D-Mass. Democrats state that the bill would have been paid for with the Buffet Rule, however, republicans argue that it won’t help any and is bound to fail.
