Schimmel was voted in as a starter by fans and Schimmel comes off the bench for the Dream. Schimmel also led the East with 8 assists and made a game-high 7 three-pointers. New York Liberty Tina Charles came off the bench for the East with 19 points and Connecticut Sun Katie Douglas came off the bench to score 15 points for the East. Indiana Fever Tamika Catchings had a double-double for the East with 14 points and game-high 13 rebounds. Schimmel Dream teammate Angel McCoughtry had 13 points and 7 assists for the East. Tulsa Shock Skylar Diggins led the West with 27 points and 7 assists. Minnesota Lynx Maya Moore had 24 points, team-high 8 assists and 5 rebounds for the West. Phoenix Mercury Brittney Griner had 17 points, 5 rebounds and game-high 3 blocks for the West. Mercury Candice Dupree came off the bench with 12 points and team-high 8 rebounds for the West. Schimmel earned MVP honors of the 2014 WNBA All-Star Game after becoming the third reserve player to start in the All-Star Game. Point guards Schimmel and Diggins both put on impressive performances for the crowd and showed they have what it takes to be the future of the WNBA.
