Lyrical tyrant Kendrick Lamar is teaming up with Washington’s National Symphony Orchestra for a one-night-only live performance on Oct. 20 at the Kennedy Center.

As Lamar’s first orchestral collaboration, Lamar and the NSO Pops will perform some of Lamar’s greatest hits from his sophomore classic album “To Pimp a Butterfly.”

Lamar, however, is not the first rap musician to collaborate with the NOS Pop at the Kennedy Center. Last year, Nas performed his timeless “Illmatic” to celebrate the symphony’s 20th anniversary, and in 2013, Phish’s Trey Anastasio performed with the renowned orchestra.  Other musicians that have performed at the Kennedy Center were:  Lauryn Hill, MC Lyte, and Jean Grae.

Ticket’s for Lamar’s debut orchestral performance with NSO Pops are on sale now for members only, but will be available to the general public on Wednesday (Sep. 30) at 10 a.m. Prices for tickets are set between $35-$99.
