Jay Z is being sued for not promoting his GOLD fragrance, so says court papers that were filed by the company who create it. According to reports, Parlux Fragrances is suing Jay Z for as much as $20 million to not doing his part in marketing the men’s fragrance. In the documents filed Tuesday with the Manhattan Supreme Court, Parlux says in his deal, Jay Z was supposed to make at least six promotional appearances, of which included Good Morning America, an interview with Women’s Wear Daily and an in-store appearance at Macy’s. Unfortunately, since the fragrance’s release in October 2013, Jay Z has not made any appearances. They also say that he hasn’t event made mention of it on his social media accounts. Parlux claims that they worked with Jacob the Jeweler to create five prototype bottles, which costs $20,000 each to make. Jay Z rejected all but kept the original. Jay Z’s deal was a hefty one in that he made $2 million royalty free money up front. He also owns 300,000 shares in the company. Parlux is seeking $18 million in damages. Damn …we wonder why Jay Z stopped liking the product. To be honest, Jay Z doesn’t do a lot of “promoting” as one would think unless he has an album coming out. So, this situation sound like a bad case of miscommunication. Source: DailyMail
