This was Parker’s fifth time being named WNBA Player of the Month in her career. Parker averaged 17.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 2.3 steals and 2.0 blocks for the month. Parker led the West in rebounds, steals and assists for the month of the August and led the Sparks to an 8-4 record. Parker best game of the month was in a 79-68 loss to the Indiana Fever where she recorded 25 points, 10 rebounds, 8 steals, 6 assists and 3 blocks. Parker posted 20 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists in a 90-59 victory against the San Antonio Stars. Parker had 24 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals and 3 blocks in a 76-66 loss to Tulsa Shock. Parker had a double-double in 11 of the 12 games and almost recorded four triple-doubles for the month of August. Parker has only appeared in 15 games this season, playing her first game of the season on July 29th. The Sparks are 10-5 since Parker returned to the team after starting the season 3-13.
